Russian business union sees inflation at 2.6% in Mar, 4% in May
MOSCOW, Mar 26 (PRIME) -- The Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs expects inflation to stand at 2.6% in annual terms in March and at 4% in May, as seen by PRIME late on Wednesday in a research note of the union’s coordination council prepared together with research company Seldon.
“Inflation has sped up in Russia. Preliminary calculations showed a March price rise of 2.6% in annual terms, and it may exceed the central bank’s target figure of 4% in May,” the note read.
In its latest report, the Economic Development Ministry forecasted inflation at 0.3–0.4% in monthly terms and at 2.3–2.4% in annual terms in March.
